Being ashamed of who you are is a horrible feeling. I mean, I’ve always preached that there’s only ever going to be one person who should and will know you and respect you – yourself. Preaching is easy; practice is not.
Sometimes, like myself, you may reflect upon actions you’ve taken before and dislike yourself for it. Maybe even loathe yourself. This may begin what we like to call the ‘critical voice’. I’ve discovered that it’s all about extracting the positives from those actions. It’s hard work, but if you want something bad enough, you got to put in the work.
Always try to extract the positives from your personal negatives. The positive could be tiny. It doesn’t make it any less positive.
‘Yes I did X but I’m a better person today because of it and this is how’
You are proving this to absolutely nobody else, only yourself. Love yourself. Respect yourself. Accept yourself. If you don’t, nobody else will.
